Painting in Squares, Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, Six Week Art Course, Drawing and Painting 

Mondays,12th June- 17th July 2023

A painting and drawing course beginning with the story of the Bloomsbury Group and the main protagonists. With step by step instructions on drawing and painting, looking closely at the art of Bell and Grant we will  pick up on the skills and processes in a small and friendly class. The first three week will be based at the The Cabinet Room - cafe life, drawing from pots and cups and of course lots of tea and coffee! The second half will be based at The Colour Factory for a close look at Bell and her landscape paintings. We will draw inspiration from these and the garden.

• Cabinet Rooms: 12th - 26th June, 1-2, De Lunn Buildings, Jewry St, Winchester SO23 8SA.
• The Colour Factory 3rd - 17th July, The Lodge, Gordon Road, Winchester SO23 7DD

You will build skills in mark making and drawing from observation, learn compositional devices, colour mixing and painting application in the style of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. Price includes all materials and hot refreshments. £270pp in a small, friendly class with only 6 places available.

For those who can’t make these dates there will be a further course in August 2023.
